HONEY

The five VIA PARINI-Honeys: Every single taste is unique in an astonishing way, each of them is of an absolute natural excellence.

While producing our honeys, we focus on the welfare of the bees. That is the reason we leave a part of the honey in the five little apicultures for the bees during the overwintering. This way their survival is guaranteed. Furthermore, we use natural substances, to protect our bees against diseases. In the end, they pollinate the wild blossoms of eucalyptus, oranges, chestnuts and other plants and this way they process their nectar to one of the most worthful and healthiest foods of the world. For us it is a matter of course that all our honeys do not need any additives.

Each of our five honeys is a natural and untreated product. Gained with indulgence and required with several international awards, the Mieli Italiani from the house of VIA PARINI taste just like the fields, woods, and meadows around smell.

MILLEFIORI HONEY

Nonna Vita says:

„The Miele Millefiori is always on disposition: For breakfast, it often is the first choice as a sandwich spread. In the afternoon, it gives the natural sweetness to your tea. And after dinner it tastes just like a poem together with a piece of cheese. Only for a notorious sweet tooth you should hide the honey very well.“

The Production:

Our Miele Millefiori has its name from all the different, uncountable flowers and plants, that give their nectar for this honey. This honey can distinguish in its colour and taste from one year to the other. The reason for that phenomenon is, that it depends of the seasonal plant species in in the Sicilian Province of Enna. If this honey crystalizes spontaneously in summer or in autumn, you can warm it a little and bring it in a fluid form again this way.

The Taste:

The delicate and sophisticated flavour of this exquisite honey is not more than the expression of the unique flora in the heart of Sicily. Every time it takes you for a walk through known and unknown tastes and smells.

ORANGE BLOSSOM HONEY

Nonna Vita says:

„You can say, there is nothing better to sweeten your teas, yogurts or pastries. Of course, the whole family will love this honey as a spread. My little advice: Caramelize baked carrots with orange blossom honey. What a pleasure!“

The Production:
For our Miele di Arancia the bees collect the delicious nectar of the local orange woods. In the little apiculture in the Sicilian Province of Enna the first class and golden clear honey with its unchangeable, harmonic-soft flavour is produced. If the honey crystalizes spontaneously, warm it a little and bring it in a fluid form again this way.

The Taste:
This honey with is typical pearlescent sheen spreads the soft perfume of blooming orange trees in your mouth. The astonishingly fruity flavour melts in your mouth just like the honey itself

CHESTNUT HONEY

Nonna Vita says:

„Fresh baked bread and extremely fine chestnut honey – this is how a day is meant to start! On the other hand, you sweeten your dreams at night, eating this honey as a dessert with an art cheese.“

The Production:

The chestnut blossom honey gets collected by the bees in the Sweet Chesnutt Forests of Piedmont. In the little apiculture, they are processed until the amber-coloured honey with its intense flavour is ready. It contains a lot of fructose and stays fluid for a very long time.

The Taste:

This honey has a full, strong flavour and is characterized by its typical slight bitter aftertaste. Every time it is astonishing how intense the taste of honey can be.

EUCALYPTUS HONEY

Nonna Vita says:

„The perfect companion for cheese, bread and herbal teas. It is great for sweetening yogurt, and muesli as well. The connoisseur of honey enjoys the Miele di Eucalyptol directly out of the glass…“

The Production:

Our Miele di Eucalyptol unites the spice and the curative power of the Eucalyptus tree. This tree derives from Australia, but since a European program of reforestation a long time ago it is domiciled in Sicily as well. If the honey crystalizes spontaneously, warm it a little and bring it in a fluid form again this way.

The Taste:

The honey shines like amber, is creamy and has a strong, intense, and long-lasting spice. It tastes less sweet than other honeys and is recommended for great honey-lovers.

ACACIA HONEY

Nonna Vita says:

„Thanks to its slight, discreet taste it is perfect to sweeten dishes, without competing with their own taste. For example, in a grill marinade, to taste a gravy, for salad dressings, but also as a delicious support of the taste of an aromatic soft cheese, like a Robiola or a Mozzarella di Bufala Campana.“

The Production:
The fragrant blossoms of the acacia woods in Piedmont contain a big amount of nectar, which is a magical attraction for the honey bees. The local agriculture forms them to the bright, clear honey with its mild flavour. Thanks to the high content of fructose, the honey remains fluid for a long time.

The Taste:

he Miele di Acacia has a bright golden colour and tastes pleasantly mild. Its flavour smells flowery and discreetly like vanilla.
